No time lately but did spend a couple hours chasing. I dont think it is repouse because I use no pitch just go back and forth on my sand bag. Going real well until I split the end of his nose. Oh well, so I thought I would try some flame color. I think he turned out good regardless of his broken nose.

That looks so rough that if it were mine, I would grind it a bit make it something more useable.
It was a bargain after all and there may be some good steel under there.
I would at least put a flap disc to it. Just me though...

Nice. I think it looks like some ones mushroom induced refrigerator buddy.

It would go for around $4 a pound in So. Az.
Prices seems to have softened lately and they dont seem to move as fast. Forged in Fire craziness may be waning.

Dave we always round to the .01' but you have to keep that in mind, 2" =.16666667'. Staking buildings are typically where you have to pay attention.
I convert from meter to feet quite a bit as some NGS data and Arizona state plane coordinates are metric but the plans are international feet (as opposed to US survey feet)
Always use .3408 exactly. Use 3.28080339 and you could cost your boss $1.5 million. Dont ask how I know (not my bust but profit sharing took a hit)

I get the best of both worlds, decimal feet. Every civil engineer and architect knows that 1.26'=1' 3-1\8"

I have hardened many tools made with 1040 and they get quite hard. Never tried a thin section like a knife though.
might be something else like improper temp or procedure, maybe de-carb. ?

Super nice roses. I like the greenery.

That's a cool inner tube puck John. I could see being useful in several sizes and even shaping or rounding the top.
I am interested to hear how you like it.

Kanca makes a post vise. Forged steel I believe.
John Switzer did a review of one if I recall.

I had a coup!e suits from the FCC visit the job site and made me shut down my GPS base. We had to update our old and now restricted frequency range.
Thought it weird because this unit didn't transmit more than a mile or 2 and they discovered it somehow. Was in town so I figured it something to do with aircraft
