  1. Looking forward to seeing slag on the floor. Is that a papa rhino anvil I see?
  2. Only clinker I ever found in my charcoal forge looked like tiny pea size pebbles
  3. It’s looking great Jennifer. You should be proud
  4. Wow you’ve been busy this summer! Very nice work! Things are just starting to slow down for me enough I can get some forging in. Cleaned up my smithy this morning. Looking forward to being able to get back in the shop!
  5. I just used this shear the other day to cut 1/8” aluminum plate cold. Was like cutting flashing with tin snips. But the main support bar got in the way after few bites. Had to flip sides and cut fro the other side. A pressure screw would definitely help with cutting the leafspring! this shear has come in handy several times in the last few months even with my limited shop time lately. Spring time on the farm is busy and working full time makes it worse.
  6. Wow Justin your really pumping out the work. Everything looks great. I’m back to work full time and it’s eating up all my forge time
  7. I figure if the socks are about the same length they are a pair
  8. May as well just make a smaller one since I have the tooling now. Still working on the pomel ran out of fuel about half way through drifting it to size. Going to have to make some wood chisel’s to finish the handle. Thank you Jennifer and John
  9. Finished fitting the hand guard. Seems a bit long now that’s its mounted
  10. Hopefully things are going as well as they can for you cgl. Keeping your family in my prayers
  11. Also it moves the faces a little farther from the handle, have a large face with out adding weight. Clearance if you will.
  12. Those audi’s Are great. Friend had one. Can’t believe what that thing went through, But 2’ of snow or 2’ mud and things change.
  13. I loved the acceleration the most. First 5 sec of the drag was the best. Always enjoyed to rally races Wish I could have done some though. Growing up in the country we did many 100 mph runs on some crazy mountain roads. How we survived is beyond me. I’ve had a few fun cars but where I live they just aren’t practical. If you don’t have a 4wheel drive you got a seasonal rig. So most of our rigs are jacked up 4x4’s with low gears. We get about 3 months of snow, 4 months of mud and 5 months of dust.
  14. My charcoal forge the low setting is a bit too much air. I use a j box to waste some air. Also using 2” pipe yes galvie until the vertical pipe going in the forge
  15. I never did take it to red but 8500 was often. Treated that poor car like a 2 stroke. Young and dumb drove it for a year or so and traded it for an 83’ trans am that was built pretty good. First week I had it I must have floated the valves a dozen times trying to get it to run like that celica did
