  1. I have this anvil, and am wondering what it is. I think it is a Fisher. Haven't had time to wire wheel it, and it is too cold for a few months to get that done. Has the Fisher lugs, and it is 100#, and has the 10. Seems to have the Fisher profile. May be a faint eagle, but if there is, it is going to be a poor imprint. I understand Fisher made anvils for a while without the eagle because they did not want to be associated with the North after the Civil War, so left the eagle off for a while.....per Richard Postman. There are pegs on the very the bottom, and per RP Fisher did use peg feet starting in 1877. Know of any other manufacturers that had those? The preponderance of the evidence says Fisher to me, but looking for a more experienced eye. Also, there is a bit of a lip on the foot in the front on the left side. It does not continue to the right side of the bottom of the foot. Thanks in advance. Hope the photos are good enough for an idea of what this is.
