  1. Thanks guys for all the Love. I appreciate it! I will put that in my bio. I am from Hillsboro Missouri! Ill post about my progress! Thanks
  2. Alright. Sounds good! So the other thing I want to ask here: can I weld this type of material? Also if I wanted to line the pan again with clay how should I do that? What type of clay found where?
  3. A break router?! And yea that's just a my only next couple of steps. Also what should I put over the hole?
  4. Hello, I recently posted about this old Coal Forge in a previous forum but I was wondering the best ways that I could repair this fire pan and the bottom of the blower here. The piece is pretty rusted and I'm worried that if I try to rebolt the piece together it might break. Any thoughts on fixing? And also lining the pan with clay? What should be the procedure for that?
  5. Thank you again man for your help and advise. All of you. I will have to check out some of the other forums to it was well! Thanks again!!
  6. Awesome! Thanks for the encouragement. So if I try to bolt back together the pieces underneath I'm worried I'll break it! also what should I do for the pan? Just use clay someone said?
  7. Oh sorry about that. Yes they are pretty rusted but in its current state the wheel and belt still turn and the blower still produces air flow. And the blades could be cleaned up a bit.
  8. Dang alright! Sounds good. Would there be anything like the patent numbers on the pictures I put?
  9. Yes. The fan blades have seen better days.
  10. Do you think it can still be used?!
  11. Thanks man. I agree with not appreciating the history of it.
  12. Thank you for your input! Just thought it might be something because of the date, ya know?
  13. Hello, I wanted to post this on the forums because I have a lot of questions and I'm sure someone will know the answers. I tried to look up some information up online with no luck. So here you guys go: 1: Is this piece rare and desired by the blacksmithing community? 2: How much would this piece be sold for? 3: What is the history behind this piece if any? Thank you so much for your time and if you want I'd be more than happy to reply to anything said. Mitch
  14. Hello, I just wanted to post on here about myself as a greenhorn blacksmith. Im 20 with a desire to forge metal since I was a boy. I've surrounded myself with as much knowledge about the trade as I can. From videos to books and actually getting my hands on a nice 80lb anvil and buffalo blower. I love the art and I hope to make a nice shop someday! Just wanted to say hello on this forum and put myself out there. Mitch
