  1. Charles, that isnt a drill press table, it is a grinder stand. The base is bolted down and the main upright is full of sand and 'stuff'. But, yes, it is only there for pics.
  2. Yes, sorry. It is just that I have exhausted all my avenues and my curiosity is getting to me now. Sorry again.
  3. The third one looks like a crude last used by shoemakers/repairers
  4. I would like to add that this is a small anvil, approx 30 pounds which fits in with the 0 1 0 marks.
  5. We still use stone and pounds, as we are raised on it, it makes perfect sense.
  6. 1940's 50's sells for about £30 max. Useful bench vice.
  7. The UK hasn't properly switched over yet, we still use miles, most of use pounds and ounces, feet and inches. Our money went metric in 1971 if that helps.
  8. Hi, I have just purchased this small anvil and am trying to find out the make and approx year of manafacture. One one side it has a eight pointed star cast into with three letters, the first is W and I cannot make out the rest. On the other side is a casting that finished with Birmingham and I cannot make out the rest. I will try to attach some pics. Thank you for any help.
