  3. how do you calculate the rebound of an anvil ?
  4. I did buy a anvil from witch i first did not know from who it was, now are some things cleared. It is an Carl Schlasser Anvil, What i know is that they where fabricated up to 1945, so this one is at least 70 years old. I take some pictures, on the pictures you can see the symbol of the fabricator a "Anchor" under the anchor you see the number 152, that number is the weigt of the anvil 152 KG or 330 LBS on the other side of the anvil you can see a other number and that is " No 1 " i do not know what it stands for, maby No 1 of the serie, or it can be that it is the smallest one they are manufacturing so a heavier one can have No2 and so on. I hope i can date this anvil, but who now when en where
  5. Thank you for the quick rsponse, so it is an Carl Schlasse anvil from Germany. now i know that he stopped after 1945 so this anvil must be at least 70 years old, but is there a record or a file that give me a manufactioring date ? I start a new tread in Brands, and i look very nice do discuss futher
  6. Hi, I am William, and i am 42 years old and i live in the Netherlands My english writing is not so good so excuse me. I am in my daily life self employed and i have a metal shop witch i make light construction and i made certified welding ( pipe welding) I make also traditonal forge for small boats who are here in Holland Monumental from small hooks , rings Cestauration katrol eyes and many more. I hope i can learn something from you guys, my first topic is here under " Identification Anvil " It is an Anvil with an anchor stamt on the side with number 152, but i think dat 152 is the metric 152 KG
  7. Hi New guy here, I did buy today a anvil from an old man who can not work with his hands anymore. I paid € 200,00 that is about 150 / 160 GBP on the side there is a stamp with an anchor and the number 152, i presume that 152 means the KG so it must be 152KG or 304 LB but i can not find a name behind the anchor. the hammer slams good back and it sounds like a bel here some pictures of the anvil
