I am totally new to the art of bladesmithing will someone please tell me the "steps" for making a blade. I have already started on a piece of metal and I would like to know what to do before I ruin a good piece of re-bar.

Could I forge cups that you can drink out of or is that more in the welding department?

I would think that it would. I mean coal (or at least the coal I get) works as an oven because the coke and the coal sticks together and makes some what of an oven already. :confused: This is just a guess so dont take me seriously.
