  1. Thanks JHCC! I haven’t connected with them yet, I live in Southern NH near Manchester.
  2. Thanks, I’d prefer a forge that is lined with a material rugged enough that I’m not dealing with insulation dust in the air for health reasons.
  3. Thanks, are diamondback forges higher quality than chili forges?
  4. I’ve been looking at forges from both chili forges and forge master as well
  5. Thanks! I’m hoping to stay below $500 I do want something that is high quality and will last a long time, I have a drill press, bench grinder, sawzall, hacksaw.
  6. Greetings everyone! I’ve used a charcoal forge for many years now, but have recently decided to upgrade to a gas forge for efficiency, what are the recommendations that people have for either buying a forge or building a simple one, I do not have access to a welder right now, only have basic shop tools, I would like it to be durable, and also have the ability to work longer pieces. I mostly make knives and swords. I would prefer to run it off of bbq propane tanks. thanks! -Caelan
  7. Thanks, do you know where I could purchase a steel 8" to 2" pipe reducer?
  8. i normally burn charcoal or anthracite. I have been trying to find a steel firepot or something that would work as such. i currently don't have access to a welder.
  9. I am in the process of building a new forge. So far it is a 24" by 36" sheet of 3/8" mild steel on a wooden platform with brick sides and a hood made out of half of a wheelbarrow with some old smoke stack. I am wondering if it should have a fire pot made out of a brake drum or will just a grate be fine? Attached is a crude picture of what i have built so far. /
