Thanks! Mark, the size is human size. If it were standing up it might be a little over 5'

  9. Was wondering, does anyone know of a good source in the US for these now?
  10. Really nice work! What sort of finish do you like for stuff like this?
  11. I like the combination of stuff there..... what was it originally?
  12. So it's a whistle valve or modified check valve?
  13. Great! Thanks so much, I'm gonna try this.
  14. Has anyone here played with enameling on their forged steel pieces, such as leaves etc.? If so how did you do it?
  15. May sound silly, but for a while I've been considering making a pneumatic hold down. Based on personal experience with pneumatic holder-ons used in boiler riveting they apply quick, stay tight and solid and don't rattle off. Something similar on an anvil could be handy. Small tie rod cylinder underneath with foot valve and whatever flavor linkage and style of clamp you want? Also could use small inline regulator to adjust clamping pressure. I dunno but as many times goose necks etc. loosen and fall off at unhandy times I think I might try it.
  16. What was your experience?? Actually (this was last year) after sending all the forms in to them (ICC) in a letter with delivery confirmation as a last resort, and still getting no response I emailed ABANA office and got no reply. I'd like to pursue but the before the sale difficulties I've seen so far have me a bit concerned.
  17. You've had better luck than I.....I'm an ABANA member and I applied several times for quote from them, online, through mail, and by phone. No response or returned communication of any sort. I can only assume that because I said I'm working approx. 2 days a week and making relatively little income from the activity that I'm not worth even talking to. Still, gotta start somewhere.
  18. I agree with everyone else- that's some of the best found object sculpture I've seen. Great sense of how to use things!
  19. After watching Randy's youtube video on it I tried some and really liked it. Got some 1/4"x1" flatbar off ebay (6al-4v) and cut off about a 1" square piece to make this- http://www.etsy.com/listing/67577199/hand-forged-titanium-nut-pick My first try and was not too difficult, although had some shuts develop during drawing which I ground out. Polished before heating to color, used the roughest compound for stainless and that would barely touch it Ran many cycles through the dishwasher after coloring, no change. Thinking about getting some larger hunks to make BBQ tools etc. thanks much for video Randy!
