  1. i wouldnt worry too much if they overlap just thin them out to be even with the rest, i dont think that it is necessary to weld.
  2. how would i go about welding a blade to the main piece??

  5. felling /chopping uk i can do a bit of forge welding and not sure and ive got an old sledge hammer could that be made into an axe or is it to soft??
  6. would it be possible to make a relatively large axe to what i have seen on some of these pages, one that would be big enough for larger felling and chopping jobs. (a sort of all round axe) i havnt done that much forging but have someone willing to help me whe has a lot of forging experience (but not in axes...) ive been going for a couple years a few hours a week any info on techniques that might be useful appreciated

    first of all hi every one. im new here now my questions how much steel would i need to start with to get a decent hand and a half sword. and is it possible to forge weld mild steel and high carbon steel satisfactoraly.
