I built my own aswell. If you have access to materials and tools, I would recomend it. It is a great way to learn. I think I spent between $150 and $200 on mine by the time I was done. It is a small single burner, but it works great and I can weld in it no problem. Just something to consider. Adam

Funny you should bring this up, I was just cleaning out my toolbox at work yesterday. I came across some custom bent and welded wrenches. It took me some time to remember what I bent them for in the first place. Don't think I'll ever use them again either. Adam

They look pretty good to me. And functionality is key, looks will come with practice. Adam

I agree with the above several statements! I have welded (diesel) fuel tanks at work many times without any problems. I don't like to do it, but I have to. But like Frosty said, there was a welder near me that was my friend's Grandfather. He had welded hundreds of fuel tanks and one day one went "BOOM" and he was in the hospital for 6 months. He barely survived. I also would not try to describe how to do something that could potentially kill someone as I wouldn't want the legal or moral responsibility. Adam
