  1. Possums ain't no good for nothin.

  2. Hey JM. The good sites are home to a lot of the same people.
  3. Good to see other horseshoers around. Personaly for hoof knives I dont think I would try a rasp. I made a pretty sweet hunting knife for my brother last year out of a rasp. I have seen shoes and such made with them and I have seen some people use them to forge weld in as the bar on a straight bar shoe. The snakes are cool and that dragon above is AWESOME! Spurs look great when made with rasp. I also have a clinch block I made from a finishing rasp. You could make a clinch cutter or a hoof gouge if you use either of them. I have seen people stick them in the ground tang down around flower beds and such.
  4. The caption for that picture on that link says its from Fort Bragg which is about an hour from me here in NC.
  5. I have a hang made hammer a farrier friend of mine in Atlanta gave me that looks a lot like this hammer. It is also stamped Erin almost the same as yours. I showed it to a farrier friend of mine in Oklahoma that said the hammer was made by a man named Erin in Cali and more than likely of truck axle. Thats all I know about it. I will try to get some pics of it. Its in a lot worse shape than yours.
  6. I really like those. Very well done. You should be selling those. I would like to see a lot more hand made spurs around here. Keep it up.
  7. Welcome aboard. This is a great place to read all kinds of info. Are you a farrier?
  8. Man how in the world do you do that?? That is amazing. Thats about all I can say about that. Great job.
  9. Yes it is for trimming horses. It is very useful in trimming the frog. Which is the soft part on the bottom of the foot that looks like a arrow head. There are other single blade knives more useful to trim the sole.
  10. I dont see why that wouldn't work just fine. I was thinking the same thing. Thats a nice looking knife. It looks to be hand made. They call those loop knives. They work great when they are really sharp but can be dangerous. I cut myself the other day with one.
  11. Thats great. Looks like you are in the kinfe business now. That anvil is awesome. I believe I would hang onto those.
  12. Thats a sweet chunk of steel. Did you get it for a good price? Looks like it would be at a good hight with a nice size anvil on it.
  13. I just paid $12 and some change for a 20lb refil the other day.:)
