I am working on a railroad rail to make a small anvil for copper jewelry. Which is more efficient: a 4-inch side grinder or a 7-inch disc grinder using 36 grid? The 7-inch seems to have more sparks .

Ok I soon will be able to retire and working on my tools. I have plans for a treadle hammer that calls for two (2) head spring 1/4x3x17 plate leaf. If I Google "plate leaf" I get dinner plates. If I Google spring steel I get all these different grades. What do I need and where do I get it? Newbie in Charleston, SC
