  1. Ive had this power hammer for over a year now, its been a very good tool. Made by Dave Preston in England. He makes a good hammer! Just messing around with it really, but it demonstrates how useful it is being able to adjust the height. In the first part im using some fairly high old fashioned top tools then I draw out some 1 inch round mild steel. Thought some members might be interested to see.

  2. Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this. Is the Anyang ST company a totally different company from Anyang AFP?

I'm not in the market for a power hammer, but noticed a blacksmith in the UK has become a dealer for Anyang ST hammers. If these are in fact two different companies all together, which one is the real and original? Just thought it would be good to clear this up for anyone looking to buy, might be something to look out for.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

  3. If you build this with the intention of making Damascus billets you will be disappointed. It just wont have the speed. Not a good design for a forging press, as speed would be the most important factor. There really is no 'cheap' or 'budget' design that is going to work very well. Have a look on the forum at presses that have been built from scratch which have been successful forging presses, I don't think you will see a bottle jack in any of them ;)
