I've got a couple of pairs of Centaur Forge wolf's jaw tongs. I like them a lot. Where in southern Indiana are you from? There is probably somebody at one of the Indiana Blacksmithing association groups that has some different kinds you could try, depending on when you need them. http://indianablacksmithing.org/satellite.html .
Im from Orange County where the Southern Indiana metorite mashers are but with my work schedule i cant get to any of the meetings . I plan on joining IBA somtime tho.

Larry is also a member here and often contributes his deep knowledge of blacksmithing. That should count for something above and beyond $$.
<script type="text/javascript"> // It does, it wasnt about finding the cheapest set of tong money wise ( which larrys was one of the cheapest $) i just wanted a quilty set of them. Which quick and dirty looks to be. I just liked the look of the side v on the centaur forge. ![cdata[>

I went with centaur forge and also bought a wolfjaw set . however if I seen these post before I might of went with q and d . I just liked centaur forge tongs that have the side v cut out

Thanks for the replies got it up and it draws great no more smoky shop

no pics yet, im thinking it would be a side draft as it would set next to the firepot on the forge table with a small flap to hlep guide the smoke . was just wanting to see if it would work like that or if i would need to add something. Im just stating out so im not very knowledgeable about the flue , side draft , hood or anything .
Also im from southern indiana nice to see a hoosier responding -
Tomorrow Im taking out my 6 inch flue pipe and putting in 12 inch . I snapped two 6inch pipes together to make the 12 inch. My question is im wanting to bring the flue all the way down and set in right next to my firepot on my forge table and cutting 2 8 inch lines 8 inches apart then bending the metal out over the fire pot for a small hood to help the smoke go into the flue.would that make a good draw or should i do something different.

It wrought iron from a wagon wheel . The pattern is the etched wrought and has a wood grain pattern in it.
