  12. Glenn I would think the difference is one pipe was welded hotter than other and it is possible that the weld on one pipe has penetrated deeper than the other. Sometimes the weld will look good but if you hit it with a hammer it will brake off quiet easley. Jeff under no circumstances should you ever weld or heat zinc. It is highly toxic and cancerous i will never allow it in my forge again.

  14. Yes the same thing has happened me if you feel any heavier vibration than normal you should change the disc.
  15. Hi AG. I wonder are the gates at Westport house i must have a look the next time i am down. I have a lovely set of old forged gates i got of a lovely lady with two side gates and they are made as you described. When i uncover them i will post pic's. Cheers Frankw

  18. HI AG Thanks its great to live here times are good and the Guinness is tasty old gates are still plenty here but hard get in good condition. Smiths are scarce here and still not appreciated fulley.

  23. Sometimes i heat to a a red heat then i wire brush with water and then i spray it with a clear lacquer to stop things from rusting.
