Thanks for the reply, I should have mentioned I already found ABANA and the Missouri chapter. I was simply wondering if there were individuals from St. Louis who wouldn't mind having someone around or who teaches formal classes. I've found some older posts on here as well but I'm not sure if those people are still here or if they are still blacksmithing so I wanted to make a new post.

Hello to everyone, I'm completely new to blacksmithing and instead of just reading about it, I want to get in and see if this is something as enjoyable as it looks. Are there any smiths in this area that wouldn't mind someone who wants to learn? Are there any classes? I'm interested in all aspects of metal work, especially edge tools. But I love so much of the work I've seen on this forum. I hope I can get some suggestions, thanks for your time.

I think it looks great. How long have you been forging? Any tips for someone looking to learn? Also, how much would you charge for one of these?
