  2. Thanks all, I will look up the three numbers you spoke of Dragons lair when I get to the shop and let you know. What do the three numbers Mean? Thanks again and a Very Merry Christmas to all.
  3. Thanks Frosty & VaughnT for your information a few of the former owners were there when I picked I up They said it had come from one of the older ranches here in the Carson Valley Nv. they believed it was purchased in the early 1920's. I paid $395.00 and still hope to find the date it was born. Merry Christmas to all & again thanks for the info.
  4. I bought this anvil last weekend and the name is Hay Budden I think! Under the name is 208 and in the front is A20887. I do not know the age or quality just it seems a good anvil. If anyone can share info I would appreciate it and tell you Merry Christmas in advance. OK
  5. I have a one that is number (A20887) it is I believe a Standard Farrier and is stamped 208. I have met several of the past owners and they were all proud to say they had owned it at one time. It is traced to a ranch that purchased it around 1920 and has always spent it's life in the Carson Valley NV. Do not know value, quality or how it was built however do know to keep it. Happy Trails

  7. Merry Christmas to all! This evening I purchased a Hay Budden anvil without any large dings. Under the logo is 208. I also found under the horn in front the edge is A20887 . I was hoping some one could help with the age and share information about the quality? I hope I paid a fair price at $395.00. Thank you in-advance for your help and may you have a very happy New Year.
