  1. Hi Scrap, Premium quality work, and I`m sure the girl`s parents will feel her daughter has come to life so to speak. Congratulations and Happy New Year to you and everyone !
  2. freeman, Sorry to hear Terminators destroyed your mail box. Guess there`s many ways to go around the problem. One, but perhaps not the most advisable, would be to get rid of them, all together...LOL.
  3. Ironstein, Sad story,my condolence to you, and to all those here who have lost their love pets recently. Nobody realizes how heartbreaking can be to loose a loved pet, unless you are an animal lover and have one, or have lost one. The relationship in my view, is particularly strong with dogs,as one interacts so closely with them, as we could with a dear friend, not just that but the best of all. We`ve had dogs in the family since were kids, and ever since I won`t stop having one any where and for as long as I live. Right now we have three pits, but they used to be four.Recently the female dog gave birth,so I`m keeping one for replacing a recently dead one. Wish they stay small to keep them all. The look on your dogs eyes is just pure love!
  4. Hi Scampbell, Well sorry couldn`t help go off topic, as I lived and worked for some time down there in the citrus growing region of Cal. Great memories from Exeter and beautiful surounding areas. Worked for Exter Packers Inc as Farm manager... wow, time flies.Funny, I`m doing metal work at present. Who said oranges and iron don`t mix? (grin)
  5. I was a farmer for nearly 20 years, and as some of you may know, for various reasons, the weather is a variable farmers are always concerned about. Weather affects weeds growth, pests, agrochemicals spray, harvest, planting, flower set and fruit development, freeze crop damage, you name it. The old farmer could tell you very accurately what the weather is going to be like. Well, I think this used to be the case, but not any more. What happens is that with experience, farmers knew weather patterns and could literally smell rain coming. Weather patterns have dramatically changed, and I`m not sure if there`s even patterns anymore. It seems crazy, highly unpredictable, so even computer models just don`t work any more either. Recently heard that if the CO2 concentration keeps rising at current rates, there`ll be a 6 degrees celcius increase in global temperature. A total disaster. I don`t want, and won`t be around to see that (next century). Nonetheless, as human race even if most of us won`t be around, we got to get serious on this issue before the planets life comes to an end. We ain`t seen the worst yet...
  6. Hi Grant, how do you know approximately when you reach the 2000 degre temp? yellow, orange color? What about doing sand blasting after forging. Would the blasting affect stainless properties? I`d like to have an interesting texture while cleaning the stainless, to then go on to passivate. Thanks for input. nelson. Forged parts need to be heated to 2000 degrees and cold water quenched to restore their stainless properties.
  7. Hi crispy, Thanks for your compliments. And I want to thank you too, for commenting about those lamps where they used huge bottles of champagne. Seems to be an excellent idea that I`d like to try some day. nelson.
  8. Hi Creek, Would you neeed some heavy duty equipment or could a regular 250 amp 220 volt be good for anything besides arc welding? Sorry if I sound ignorant...I am! lol. sounds interesting, and I`d like to try. nelson.

  10. Pawell that`s a lovely piece. I love the texture and surrealistic look. What finish will you give it? Excellent! nelson.
  11. HI Mark, I agree with Mick in that a smaller size base would make it more proportionate and less heavy to the eye. May I ad that I like the organic look of those root looking parts, and if you make them less simetrical, they may appear more artistic and natural. For being a 3th piece I`d give you an A, save the plus, because I know you`ll improve as all of us do. Very nice piece! Nelson.
  12. That creature got some very nice features, like the mouth and teeth. PLease post it once finished. Nelson.
  13. Hi Oscar, I just love that sculpture. It has some native features, I mean it`s like an indian tribute or something related. Would you please tell us what inspired you,the title...? In regards to the base shown on the second pic, just a sugestion, it seems that bulky iron draws too much atention from the sculpture itself. The sculpture is too nice to draw the viewer`s eye away from the center of interest, like a distraction. Congratulations! nelson.
  14. Thanks Jake, nothing like nature for background. Nelson.
