  12. I really didnt know where to post this and I apologize for posting if and taking up space but it might just make a difference in someone life. Today is Thanksgiving and my family is small so we all usually get together quite often but this year Me and my wifes visiting one less house, My Fathers. My father and I was as good as friends as two people can be, he taught me everything I know about life and he was a great man. On July 22, 2004 I finally made time to spend with him, It seemed like I was always had something more important to do but that day I took him fishing. He and I had the best time and little did I know 3 days later he wouldnt be with us anymore, He was 45 years old and died the 25 of July, my birthday. I am thankful God gave me one last time to hang out with him and I am thankful for everything he taught me. Now if any of you guys are lucky enought to still have your Dad or Grandfather around tell them just how much you love them and give them a extra long hug, I wish everone a safe trip if your traveling and you will all be in mine and my familys prayers, Godbless and Happy Thanksgiving Charlie
  13. My family and I will keep you in our prayers,Godbless Charlie
  14. I have seen thousands of spike knives over the internet and I know alot of them have different types of twists in the handle area, but I have not been able to locate information on how people do it differently, so lets start here, Which do you like the best and how do you do it?

  18. I feed my pitbulls raw meat and over time I have found out its extremely expensive!!! So I cut up ever deer I kill and process the meat myself for my dogs, in doing that I end up with alot of deer bones and yes they do make good handles. Now everyone has their own way of doing it, heres mine.. I take all the meat I can off the bone and put them into a big cast iron tub and boil them. I then put them up for awhile and wait on them to cure outside. I have bone that been outside for along time I still havent gotten to yet but I dont really have a certain time its ready. Usually around a couple of months, its just a guess. It also smells pretty rip if done in the summer. I hope this helps, If their is pasture land in your area get to know the owners and ask premission to look for old bones, thats a good source and usually its real old and cured. Good luck and Godbless hope I helped,CHarlie
  19. The anvil is a Hay Budden, funny story behind it. I purchased a Hay Budden from a guy that had it advertised in a newspaper in Montgomery. He owned a shop and used it to remove the bondo off of his spatula, what a waste. I got their and it was covered in bondo, paid 100.00 dollars and got home and cleaned her up but the top wasnt as nice as I wanted so I contacted a Blacksmithing friend that collects anvils and he had one EXACTLY like mine that was in beautiful condition and traded me even, both weighed the same and all!! By the way if you ever looking on here Matt THANKS A MILLION!!!!! Godbless you man, I really appreciate it! I really like the anvil and will have it until the end which I hope is far away,LOL It weighs 168 lbs
  20. I just get the piece yellow to red hot and hammer, Its not really that complicated to me. I dont have a shade in the area so I just watch it close and hammer away.
  21. I havent gotten my post vice set up yet but hopefully soon I will and get to twisting my handles before I start profiling the blade, Keykeeper thanks for the tip, I will definitely weld that up to my clippers, I cut a half inch off of each tip to hold the spikes and what you said would be perfect for the spikes, Thats what I love about this site everyone is always helping me out, THANKS!!! Godbless to all and have a great weekend, Charlie
