I have been told that caustic soda/sodium hydroxide, when mixed with zinc will produce cyanide gas, if that is true DON'T use on plated or painted steel,in the old days we would mix up caustic for our drilling mud and put our signs in it to strip them-we were lucky I guess.

hello Lugnut, I work in the Rifle/Rulison area. But don't have alot of time to run around,etc. work 12 hrs. a day or night. but welcome aboard.

Rehandling hammers...

On hammer handles I do drive them in. But I trim the wood wedge so it will go through the eye,and start it in the grove before I install handle,sometimes I wasn't able to get it in after installation.Wedge it and set in water for a while.J -

Wishwon, The work will be over the steel-not on the shank. Offsett will hold the tool in place-Could be a guilotine/or half setup- is merrit in it. Will think of it on a conv. anvil setup!!
