  1. I think you mean a cold cut saw something like a Brobo saw Brobo Metal Saws You need to run coolant on them because they generally make the blade from High Speed Steel. In OZ it costs about $150 to get the blades sharpened. If you want them to last use lots of coolant and never cut stainless steel. We use them at work and they are a good saw if looked after.
  2. Thanks for the feed back. Ten Hammers thanks for the advice will try that out when I get a chance.
  3. No name on the Anvil just Soderfors Bruk Stockholm Sweden. As for the stand it was floating around the old milking shed. it is a little bit high but I can sink it into the ground a little, was half buried when I found it(prob about 40yrs a few more couldn't hurt). Doug unfortunately I can’t claim to have blacksmith in my blood only horses and cattle. anvil used for shaping comercial shoes.
  4. That is what it is called. The Australian navy mine sweepers??? Used to have there ships made with steel hulls and an aluminium deck to keep the weight down. But in an explosion they found that the deck pealed away from the hull. Would cost a fortune to do.
  5. Hi all thought I better stop lurking an jump in. Have been reading as many of the threads as time permits (some very talented people out there). I have been inspired to have a go, so I spent the weekend scrounging on the family property to make a forge. Don
