  1. Don't think you could have two better helpers!!!!!! Like the forgings, very cool!

  3. Really Nice Work, Say Hi from Northern New Jersey,
  4. Ted and Family you are on the prayer list here too!
  5. Have heard many stories of Silver dollars in the tenon joints in the old dutch barns. To that effect saw a show on tv were they were reclaiming old barn wood and the boss cut out all the big beam joints with a chain saw and put them in his truck for going over later. He too explained the tradition of some builders placing silver dollars in the joints. I like the idea of the silver coin under the anvil, good tradition!
  6. Even if its cast...It will provide a larger more stable base than the I-beam. Use it till you are ready to up grade again. good luck with it
  7. Rodney, We will be praying for you and your Wife over here.
  8. Wow, that is a lot of beautiful stuff, I was drooling over the power hammers! Down here you see anvils and grindstones and other blacksmith stuff used as garden/ lawn art not for working. As good as it looks in someones garden it would look better at work in someones shop! lol
  9. For me, the piece I work on means more when I am doing it for someone specific. I will talk to my family or friends "sometimes even in-laws"lol... and see if they would like something special for home, shop or garden. it now gives a direction to move forward and of course to see the look when you give someone a hand made gift is fantastic. On the back side, I get to practice and try to create an item to a "clients" specs. And sometimes they show someone who passes on a paying gig based on what they saw. It's a win win.
  10. The plant holder looks great! If you wanted to go for different look, you good try different scroll ends.ie fish tail, penny, a flair, a pig tail or even a small leaf. Any of these could be worked into the "S" support scroll or into the top or bottom ends of the bracket. Good luck
  11. A Very Merry Christmas to all! God bless you and yours!
