I have upgraded and have an old Buffalo brand coal fired forge with hand blower for sale. There are also two sets of tongs to go with it. Fully operational. Good condition all round. I had a look at a diesel fired forge the other day that is for sale in Bassendean W.A. It was too big for my use but someone here might have a use for it. It is located at a business called West Coast suspensions 188 Railway Pde, Bassendean. Contact is John on 9378 2133. They will take $400 for it which is a good price I think. I would love to see a jackhammer chisel bit properly sharpened and hardened with my own 2 eyes instead of watching it on youtube etc. Any ideas on who might have some time to show me, I can supply the chisel bit from a box full that I have. I am located south of Perth but will travel anywhere to cop a look if possible. Cheers Steve

Just picked up my first forge today. It is a Buffalo brand with a hand blower and in pretty good condition. I will be using it to harden jackhammer chisels. What is the best fuel to use and where in Perth can I get it from. Thanks chaps..:)

Hi guys.... I have been asked by a mate at a hire company to re-shapen and harden all of their jackhammer bits and chisels. I did a few using a big bench grinder and then heated them to cherry red and quenched them in oil and finally gave them a buff to remove the soot from the quenching process........so far so good......... Am I on the right track???, I do not seem to be able to find any info anywhere and the correct way to do these things, can anyone here help point me in the right direction?? Cheers Steve
