We had a doxie. I know what you mean Jerry

I like the detail in the hinge for the clamp. Nice work

These are really nice, Jeremy!

Very nice! New York??

Looking good! Gonna put a hardy and pritchel in? May I commend your attention to >This Link. I debated on a base (and feet) under the anvil as opposed to having the base integral to the anvil and feet to simply give lateral support. I chose the latter as it seemed I would have a more distinct ring and avoid the "stacked mass" dilemma. If you are going to put your base under your anvil, I recommend beveling the bottom as much as possible before welding. Personally I would bevel it 2" all the way around (So the bottom is a 4 sided pyramid) so that you get 100% penetration. Yes, it's a lot of welding, and it will get HOT, and the base will probably pull up a bit. However if you let it cool in between passes it will control some but you could also weld small shims on the bottom without sacrificing any ring (if that is important to you. The pulling was a consideration on my chosen method as well so I pre-angled the feet deliberately and tackled them slightly lower than the bottom of the body to help control the pulling effect. Hope this is helpful

Very cool!

Very nice. Wife would love these!

I really like it! I am equally intrigued by the title. "Defending?" "Hairpiece??" :o

also not a hammer but appears to be a handled hot cut. handles on these tools are not wedged or glued permanently.
-
Not actually a "hammer" but a handled top tool. All called a handled fuller. Mushroomed end is struck (with an actual hammer) to shape, draw, fuller etc hot iron or steel.
-
That's exactly what I was thinking! .... Not!! :D Seriously, I don't get it al (well, little of it actually lol) But I know what it takes to get readable results and you got some cool software going there :)

Cute li'l bugger :D

I second/third the crimper too. 4 sizes as pictured. Open it up, flip it around for more uses. As the outside has an uneven number of grooves, I'm thinking it could also be for holding 5 different sizes of cable for cutting and such.

Beautiful work, Beth. The hot coils are cool too (no pun intended....sort of) :D

What street did that man hole cover come from. I want to avoid driving down that street :D

Lookin' good Gunny! Oorah!

That is some fine forging, Steve! I know what it takes to shape iron in such a matter. One wrong bend and it can take some time to make it right again ;)
-
Impressive! Use it yet? How heavy is it?
-
In your forum post on you anvil build, I linked you to how I fixed the hardy issue in my torch cut anvil :)
-
Cute l'il forge :) Is it the angle? Mabe distortion in photo? The gas tube seems to appear to be off center. You'll get a better more stable flame if it is dead center in tube. If its my eyes, my apologies :)

Neat hammer, Steve! How did I miss seeing that when we were in your shop?? LOL Seriously, that is one cool hammer :)
-
Steve, our whiskers look a bit more experienced than the last time you and I stood for a photo ;)

That's beautiful, MacB! :)
