Are there numbers on the front left of the foot? Also is there a number on that first pic. you posted of the handling hole? Also what does the underside of the anvil look like? Looks to me like a Hay Budden

Just did a search for blacksmith bob and cup, nothing comes up. Do you know what they are used for? I was told by one person it was a countersink, and also was told it is used to put dimples on metal. Do they go together or seperate?

Cleaned up all my hardies and a 146# PW, and these are the ones I do not know what they are, or used for. Any help from the blacksmiths out there would be great. Please refer to them by the number when replying so I know what one you are talking about. All of the pictures can be seen at:

Is this the anvil you paid just under $2 a lb for, and had to drive 2 1/2 hours for?

I was just wondering what size stock is the min. amount to make your own tongs out of? I have some scrap 3/8" from old horse and buggy springs and was wondering if this would work. Also does anyone know any links to step by step making tongs? Thanks

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on this forum. I am an anvil collector looking for unique and rare pictures of anvils you may have or have come across. Also looking for any kind of pictures of OLD ENGLISH anvils. Anything 1780-1850. Please post them to the IForgeIron Gallery or this thread.
Thank You

I bought one of the older 1970's Mankels, 95# for $100 in perfect condition. Nice looking anvil with a wide horn and wider face then most farrier anvils I have had. Nice ring and rebound from what I can remember of it.
