  1. Hi, I'm pretty new around here, and really new to silversmithing (still just a romantic idea in my head). I've got an idea for a wood carving that I'd like to make and do a silver inlay. As I've never worked with silver before I have no idea where to begin, either in general or for this specific project. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi

Solid Fuel. I seem to remember having seen a variant of the 55 forge, but can't remember if it was just 2 drums that made an exhaust column or if I'm just imagining things. I did see a couple of links to other forges, and am curious where one would find a hand powered blower (or plans for the same).

    Hi

Hey, I haven't been around for about 6 months. I haven't had time or space to do any metal work until now. Now that I'm back I'm having trouble finding blueprints on forge making (I found 5 forges in the 3 sections. I thought there were a lot more than that). Any help? Thanks.

    Hi

Hey Guys, I found this forum by chance, and instantly remembered going to to the Ohio Historical Society as a youngster. I asked the blacksmith there how I could get started and he drew plans for a side blast forge made of a coffee can and a computer fan. I remember asking my dad for help building it (I think I was about 9 or 10), but gave up after about a week of him saying 'no.' Well, I won't be detered this time. As soon as I figure out where I want to live (just seperated from the U.S. Navy) I'll build a forge and anvil out of scrap. Thanks for the blueprints guys!
