  1. I wanted to say it was great to enjoy Hunter's hospitality and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the guild and getting some hands on time with some actual equipment. I look forward to the next meeting. Thanks, Ron Cartwright wyrdhammer
  2. Well I mad it out to Boone's it was a liitle to coldand damp for my littel ones so I had to leave shaortly after getting there. I left just as "Iron in the Hat" was getting started. What littel I did get to see was great, Dan Boone's workshop is amazing. I was so happy to see all the great stuff available at the tailgating, and the handmade table for the "Iron In the Hat" had such a variety of crasftmanship. I regret that I didnt get to meet anyone from the Guild or get to formally join, but Im really glad that I went and got to enjoy the wonderful hospitality of the Boones.
  3. I'm interested in going to The pasture party, who do I need to contact for more information. This would be my fist opportunity to meet a group of others interested in blacksmithing
  4. Hello all, found the site, like how its put together just joined and thought I would say hello. Im a computer programmer, with a small hobby farm on the outskirt of Richmond, VA. Ive wanted to take up blacksmithing for years, but just acquired my first anvil in Dec. I have a super busy schedule so Im not sure at this point how far Im going to take it, but I have created a charcoal burning forge and was able to bang away on some railroad spikes recently. I got into it for the romantic notion of making a sword or knife some day, but after seeing a book on how to blackmsith tools for a farmstead, Im much more intrigued by more practical applications.
