  1. It is only to be used for scraping hides so I left it rough.
  2. A colleague asked me if I could forge an ulu. I answered that I had absolutely no idea but I was willing to try. So here is my first shot at an ulu. Made from old lawnmover blade like the 2 previous knives I have posted. Handle is japanese cherry.
  3. This blade is made from leftovers from the first blade. Old lawnmower blade but it holds a great edge. The tang is 2/3 of the handle The handle is apple with leather and copper (from an old CPU cooler) spacers, the bolster is japanese cherry (left from the first knife). The handle is a bit asymetrical but it fits my hand perfectly because of it. It was a scrap piece of apple and i worked with the form it already had. Sheath is made from scrap leather, handstitched with waxed cotton thread.
  4. Made another one at the same time. Will be posting it tomorrow along with an ulu I recently made.
  5. The blade is the first I ever forged. Forged from an old lawnmowerblade. It holds a great edge. The handle is japanese cherry, a leather spacer and the bolster is a piece of teak(from an old bedpost). Sheath is made from some scrap leather and handstitched with waxed cotton thread. It has been sitting in a box for a couple of years so we (wife and I) used it as a christmas present for a family member.
