this would make a really nice BBQ fork handle or a cross guard, that is some fantastic work, i think i have a rough idea on how you did it and if i am right that must have been a lot of work

to me atleast, the look doesn't matter, if it's sharp and the blade shape is usable, it's a good knife for me
and I for one like the hammered look, it gives a nice pattern on the blade that I like,
it's a good habit though to try to reduce them as much as you can, don't worry though, it will come over time, seeing how this is your first RR spike knife and i don't really know how much experience you have, maybe rounding the edges of the hammers a tiny bit if they are store bought and still like you bought them
