I don't know the proper name of the tool, however I believe it to be a devise when placed in the nostrils of a bovine and tightly gripped would control the beast.
Correct. Is used for leading cattle.

Is a calking swage. Was helpful for welding and redressing sharp ice calks in horseshoes

Looks like a swage. Was used for welding, setting in place, and/or sharpening various size toe calks in work horse shoes. Good score!

A good anvil. Was my first one. Still have it amongst all my stuff. Shod a lot of horses with it. Would still use it over most contemporary anvils made now.
