Frame has a wax finish, - both slightly heavy and very sturdy. I was contacted to make the frame thru the wood guy - it was his client that bought the table.

The hammer head was made with 1/4" square stock, and I made a spring fuller from a rod bent in a "U" to forge the grooves on the corners, drilled a hole then forged the handle with a slight taper on the head end and riveted the hammer handle into the head using the end of the handle as the rivet.

I made this after seeing Mark Pearce demonstrate this style basket for a couple candle holders he was making at the Guild of Metalsmiths fall conference on 9/21/13.

This picture was my first pr of tongs I ever made. I had seen a picture in the BABA magazine. Just a different style of tongs, but they work just fine.

Ian - the ends are done by hand/treadle hammer, and yes they went on large wood covered refrigerator doors - 6ft wide refrigerator.
Peter - the stand offs are welded to the collar -
Thanks Mark, There are 10 forge welds that are in this fork - 4 per heart element and 2 for adding stock length for the main shaft areas.

Ted - very nice job, although I will have to disagree with you.....are those not real hammer's,tongs,anvil??? nice cart and yes it tells the mind it is a forge cart. Hope the play went well!!!!

Steve - did you do the forming of the contour's or just the billet. Were the contour's machined in or hot forged?
