  1. Looks like a slashing tool but first thing I thought of was hand slipping up. Nice looking.
  2. Small Bowie, 6 5/8ths blade, from leaf spring.
  3. Wire and it still works. Thanks, all, for kind remarks.
  4. Today's offering.....muahahaha!!!! Ratcheting box end wrench welded to a rasp file blade. Halloween special No. 13
  5. I try and keep work surfaces and equipment clear. I made a couple of passes on my belt grinder then (untypically) stepped to the side to check my work when BAM!!!, the belt broke. Seems it picked up a piece of metal. That was my last quick cutting belt so now I need to order some more.
  6. I try and treat files as though they are 1095. Thanks for the kind words. <script type="text/javascript"> //
  7. Top is a drop point ground from a rasp with Elk handle and brass from old elevator rail. Middle is Tanto point ground from a small rasp with White tail handle and brass from an old elevator hand rail. Bottom is a solid brass scrapper I bought at the scrapyard ($1) and put my own handle and pins on.
  8. Moves around too much. Plan on addressing that in the a.m.
  9. Built this stand this morning for my post vise and sheet metal stake. 10 x 10 x .625 I beam. Legs are 2x2x.375 tubing. Should be able to withstand the West Texas wind.
  10. What is the point in heat treating a RR spike?
  11. As you would 1095 even though I don't know what it is.
  12. Maybe someone or nobodyspecial can help me think up a name for this one, ( besides the obvious "unfinished").
  13. I don't know what else to call this. It is rather large, even for me. The ring it is setting on is what's left of a 10" circular saw blade.
  14. Try to post again. Looks like that worked. Sorry for the inconvience. no, thank you for working with us to correct upgrade problems here
  15. Just tried different file extensions and different pictures. All uploads failed. Had success in two other forums and face book. Quien Sabe? we are looking into it
  16. Made these today. Antler handles and circular saw steel blades. Uploads are failing, sorry? If you want to see them they are posted on my face book link below, thanks. maybe if you try using GIF or JPG they would load
  17. I cleaned up the flatter and will make a handle for it tomorrow. Most likely out of pecan. Planning on cleaning up the rest of the stuff and adjusting fitment as necessary. Grind or mill? Right now I am looking for some youtube of bottom round swage useage.
  18. Got this flatter and Hardy tools plus 75 lbs. of some nice (looking) smaller leaf spring today for $5. And now it is raining. Does it get any better?
  19. OK. I'll pound it into something else.
  20. Yes, I even have a texturing hammer for when I want to try and get that look. I don't think the fuller goes with it, tho.
