The ram is round, but I don't think it's 75#. I found an old advertisement that shows a hammer with a round ram that says it was a 30. I was working on removing the ram tonight and it doesn't weigh 75#.

FYI, here's a link that shows both the old and new Kerrihards. I believe it's a 30#. the mechanisms are quite different between the two. The old ones seem to have good reputations for small hammers, but I just can't seem to find any info on the new ones. I just bought one, but I don't know much about it. Hi: I'm new here, but I was wondering if anyone had any information on the "new" Kerrihard hammer (model C30, introduced around 1920 or so). I've seen a fair amount online about the older models , but hardly anything about the newer ones, other than they ran about 400 bpm.
