Balance depends on mode of use: some are balanced correctly forward and some are balanced correctly at the guard, etc. Pointwork vs edge plays a part.
Exactley what you said Thomas
Chris
beautiful job, scrapping is almost a lost craft.
Gday Stan thanks for the complements mate .

How much does it weigh?
Hi Thomas havent wieghed yet or made scabbard either .but if i grab with fingers at gaurd and shake point stays dead still
so balance maybe ok

That is a great piece! One of the most fascinating things about it is you can not really judge the size just looking at it. its proportions could be letter opener size or two handed.
Hi Charlotte yes unless you have somthing you know size of next to it
like the anvil in one of the pix thank you
Chris.

I was going to say somthing smart..., like it was a terable peice and I would be happy to dispose of it for you. But allase it is beutiful

Bit of a change from hawks , started out trying this with no power exept for the coke blower.
Once forged i used a scraper and files , 1075 hardened in oil brought back to spring .blade is just over 19 inch handle around 6 inch.
soon found i had to use a pedestal for handle and pomel .
hope you like .

I love hawks and yours are the best ones I've ever seen. When I first saw the Norse I was amazed (loved the leather work) but holy cow the level of detail on this one is crazy. This is the kind of stuff that makes me wanna keep practicing.
Thanks for sharing!

I always love it when I see a new thread in here with your name on it. I believe this hawk is my favorite of yours so far. The graving is a stunning portion of the overall beauty. It is art, the entire piece... Please keep them coming sir.
