  1. I believe I figured it out. I took the oil adjustment valve out and opened it up and there was a big cheese curd looking thing inside. No spring and ball detent like I was told would be in there, but maybe my model didn't come with one originally. Anyways, I haven't run her a whole lot yet but it seems like the oil is flowing again.
  2. Our SM50 seems to have quit flowing oil. I know I'm getting air pressure to the oil tank, but the oil doesn't appear to be flowing into the machine. I'm not sure if the oil adjustment valve is gunked up or what. I've read that there's a check valve inside the valve, and I'm thinking that could be stuck? I'm not sure. Anyone experience any kinds of issues like this? I've emailed Sahinler but they're incredibly slow to respond and haven't been of any help so far. Any recommendations on where to start with this would be great. I don't want to burn my machine up. Thanks!!!
  3. Anyone else out there get suckered into their sales pitch? I bought this software yesterday, and MY GOD it is the worst purchase I have ever made in my life. I've used the different programs to run our PlasmaCam and our Torchmate, and they're nothing like this garbage I just bought. I'm at the point where I'm going to demand a refund, but before I do I just wanted to check and see if anyone else out there is feeling the same frustrations as I am. UGH I hate it when I feel swindled.
  4. Really impressed with the way he fit the bottom onto that thing. Old man really knows what he's doing.
  5. So its looking like all of these are more or less home made. Any place that sells one already figured out and ready to go? I'm kind of missing the point on that drawing in the link, the torch and bunsen burner are seperate from eachother, making not hands free right? Guy in the video has it setup the way I'd like it.
  6. Yea that's it. I guess it's called a treadle torch.
  7. I saw a video a while back with a guy that had a foot powered rosebud torch that had an idle flame and when he stepped on the pedal it would fire up nice and hot. He'd go back and forth from his torch to the flypress, the foot pedal attachment looked like a real fuel saver. Anyone know the name of that style torch? My google-Fu is weak on this one.
  8. So today we drove a few hours north to a guys place that was retiring and selling off most of his collection. We ended up buying a really nice looking 345lb Peter Wright anvil, two post leg vises, a platen table, a bunch of the platen stake anvil things that drop into the table, a swage block, some big metal cone and some hammers. I can't wait to get the new blacksmith area setup!
  9. We have Amit Har-Lev coming to our shop this summer and the boss wants to order a new anvil before Amit arrives. We're just a regular ornamental iron shop that is getting more and more into the blacksmithing side of the business. Bossman is specing out a 200lb anvil, and I'm currently looking at the TFS line. So far it's between the standard 200lb single horn anvil and the 200lb "Smithy" double horn anvil. The double horn has a nice flat secondary horn, and a little side shelf off to the side. Both have 1" hardy holes. Anyone know what the little side shelf is used for? Anyone want to steer me in a different direction? Boss is a little hesitant to buy anything used, so ATM we're shopping for a new unit. Thanks guys!!!!
  10. Hey guys first time poster here. We've got three NC Tool forges here at our shop and they just seem to be running a little on the cool side. Reading around the forum I've discovered that it looks like they're running a little on the lean as well. I remember a couple of years ago when I set them up the adjustment was something like twisting the intake chimeney this way or that way to adjust the flame. I couldn't ever get it to look quite right so we just rolled with what it produced. Some threads say to put a little foil or tape over the intake to richen the mixture up. I'm OK with doing that but I'm hoping there's a couple of different options that I can try. I know I can look up the directions from NC, or even call them directly but as I've found on the car/gun forums I hang out on, regular people are pretty crafty and there's normally eleventy billion different ways to acheive one common goal. Thanks!!!! -Karl @ Brians Welding
