    Hi that style vise was pattened by pheonix it was coppied by other co. it came in several sizes I have 1inch jaws up to 3inch in both direct mount or c bracket style and with a intregril cast iron handle hope this helps Ron

Hi Geoff the replies you got are all pretty good answers,these little guys have been around for centuries I collect vises and have many styles yours is probally german, the french made more stylized and the english looked close to a large vise I have a few from austria they are heavier built with out much design I also have small post vises they are very hard to find hope this helps Ron

  6. Hi NJAnvilman Im Ron I just singed in. I think I sold you a 500 lb fisher anvil 20-25 years ago said you were starting a Fisher museum; looks like you are doing a good job. I was looking at your specs on a no 1 chain vise you say 3and one half inch jaws .I just found a chain vise with a 3in jaw it is not marked but looks like a Fisher to me. Did anyone else make this style? I collect small vises lots of hand forged. So I jumped on this little guy when I saw it Your advice or help would be great thanks Ron
