  1. This guy's shop is my dream place- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPgESIYOVGI
  2. I am a purist, my shop has no tools more advanced than that of a 2012 era blacksmith shop ;)
  3. Oh, sorry I didn't reply soon, http://monkeymitch351.deviantart.com/ is me :)
  4. Very cool. (Hey, you're Iron-eye on deviantart, aren't you!)
  5. Very cool stuff for the garden, I love that one in the second photo! Pretty nice candle holders as well.
  6. I can imagine that in a fancy restaurant, very nice!
  7. Oooh, that's really nice. You should put it on everything you make as a maker's mark :)
  8. Great work. What diameter pipe was used here?
  9. Those would be beasts cutting up veggies and stuff, nice work!
  10. You deserved that award, the banister looks brilliant! Really great job.
  11. Wow! Very nice repair job. Even if it's not the hardest surface now, it sure beats what it looked like before :D
  12. Great tutorial, I have got to try that one day. That's 1/2" square, right?
  13. That last part about bending over the face of the anvil (RR track) might have been confusing. Take a look at this video, about 50 seconds in, that's what I'm talking about. I haven't tried making S hooks this way, but I don't see why you can't :D
  14. Yeah, bend the S hooks over the horn, or if you're using railroad track, hit over the edge to bend it, then flip it around and hammer it into a hook. Same technique for forging scrolls. Of course, if you have a vise, make a U shape piece of rod and clamp it in the vise, instant bending fork!
  15. Very good video, perfect for a beginner and I learned a thing or two as well!
  16. I don't worry about mosquitoes where I live, but I have a half wine barrel that I use, and think I need to take steps to stop critters/bacteria/fungi from growing in it. I think I'll add some bleach, will that stop nasties completely? By the way, when I bought the barrel, for the first month of using it, the steam from quenching would reek of wine, LOL :)
  17. Very good, much better than my first lessons. Keep up the good work!
  18. Very unique, I love it! It would actually make a nice pen holder.
  19. Matt, it does seem to be the same problem that I posted. However, the verdict there was that the water quench I used was the problem, and here it was quenched in oil, which shouldn't cause cracks. I would say the spring fatigue is a good guess. ~Mitch
  20. Indeed it is theft... But, why post a video that's almost exactly the same thing? It seems kind of redundant, and putting yourself at risk for no reason. Well, I guess you get views and comments, but for a stolen video it doesn't matter much.
