  1. make a billit out of high carbon steel then open up one side and put a mild steel in for the spine?? i was thinking this might be good because the outer shell of high carbon can keep an edge and the mild steel spine would bend more and what not so it wont break. also i would do clay heat treating so the spine isnt heat treated as much as the edge.
  2. does it matter what steels you combine? could you combine stainless with non stainless ?
  3. I already built a fire pit a long time ago. I was wondering if I could dig the ground up put a pipe in and fill the hole back in with mud. then scrap out and form a hole going straight up from where the pipe is on both sides. for the air flow. let dry and use it?
  4. also what kind acid can you use to bring out the diffrent steels
  5. okay some people are telling me its a special steel thats very strong while other people are telling me it's just a bunch of metals pressed twisted and what not to create patterns.
