  4. John............... I clean up a mountain of empty beer bottle/ cans around this chair every Sunday morning. Its just that I clean them up before I take the photos so nobody will know that I have a drinking problem!!!!!!
  5. Thank you FlyingXS yes a few drop bears guarding the chair would be good. and David Kailey I have built the chair to come apart like via slip inside housings and matching pins of RHS . what you see so far is made of 8 pieces that would fit through a household doorway . I could (in theory) install it in somones lounge room as a surprise. if you look at the photo from rear it shows the mounting method for : top fan , left and right sword banks , mast , and base frame,
  6. Thank you A.Skelton . you have chosen a fantastic craft / hobby / obsession. I look forward to seeing images of your work when you get started. Progress shots are very helpful if you have any ,. thanks Andrew
  7. thank you highsider . I have completed the arm rests with 14 additional sword hilts and a heap of strap . some photos in a week. cheers. a
  8. Thank you Ianinsa . The "mega noise Machine" is an unintended illusion . it is in fact just in front of the camera. and in front of the vise . a cheep 'boom box" cd player . it can be seen behind the vice in the last photo
  9. THANK YOU john and Dave . Yes its not original on my part but I really am a medieval fantasy nut. (I all ready have built a big dragon and a fully operational catapult ) More fotos in 2 weeks cheers Andrew
  10. well folks here is the start of a new project. a throne inspired by the Mega hit HBO series Game of Thrones. should take about 10 weeks. about 70 swords to make . What every man needs in his man cave!
  11. WOW Fantastic Vision and Imagination . Im sure that if you made smaller versions they would sell like hot cakes.
  12. Fantastic Michael.................... you really have vision . What a magnificent work ( that should last 500 years if the scrappos don't steal it.)
  13. I love the life and movement in the piece. could be a windswept tree with a bit of imagination
  14. Thank you Ausfire and David for the kind words. I have just now completed 2 months into a third horse . This one Im having a lot of trouble with, as the horse will be executing a tight left turn so its feet will not be vertical but rather pointing outwards from the turn direction..... also its spine will be curved into the turn .So I stupidly thought I would build a vertically aligned horse then tilt the body into the turn . the trouble with this theory is that the two web trusses that support the horse from the frame (attached to the main pole) would also be tilted inward . It only occurred to me much later that the web trusses only work if they are vertical. so my: " build a standard horse then tilt it " would not work . the next problem is that all my measurements that I use for the horse shape are taken from points on the steel web trusses(from the blueprint drawing )...... so by tilting the horse but not the web truss . all my old 3d reference points are now wrong .................Im loving the challenge but its taking 3 times as long. should be my best yet if I pull it off. I will post some pics when I solve this one. cheers and my appologies for not responding to your post sooner. andrew
  15. Thank you LastRonin , yes it takes more time than most people would think , To copy it would take about 20% of the time . Many hours looking (and drinking) hic! to get a firm concept. sorry bout the late reply just being a slacker cheers mate!
  16. sorry bout the delay in replying ...just missed it ...... yes Aus I am at Urana NSW 100 km west of Wagga Wagga. we had 2 one in 100 year flood levels in 2 consecutive years. I thought it was great as I didn't have to cart water from town to my house as I had to do for the preceeding 2 years due to no water at all in the drought............... now (2 years on I have enough water for another 2 years . cheers mate. Andrew
