Lots of forging, cooking, playing guitar, drinking other peoples home brew cause I don't brew myself.
  1. I like the looks of this thing too. Biggin, if I were closer to you I'd say lets get together and try our hand at it! I am wondering if you have made any attempts in the last few months since you posted your query? There is always going to be discouragement born from not succeeding, but where else would you be if you didn't try things you haven't done before? Good luck mate!
  2. I am a new member and have been following your hammer project closely. I am still using primitive methods of forging but am on the prowl for a power hammer of some sort. I look forward to your hammer in action and will observe the continued progress.
  3. got to get an eye exam so I can get new lenses in my antique safetys!

  4. Hey it looks to me like a masterpiece work in progress. Before you know it you will have 42 hammers and 67 tongs hanging around it and you will surely never regret having spent the day or two to put it together. I have two post vises that have been sitting around for a year and I finally just mounted one to my 4' x 5' fixture table. The thing weighs about 1900 lbs, so I don't need to bolt it down, but that post to the ground makes all the difference for sure. nice work!
