  1. Beautiful restoration job Jeremy! Very nice! welder19
  2. It's been a long time since we had access to all of the blueprints, a year or so but now we have none. If and when they ever get put back on are they going to include all the new ones that have been presented during the absence of the blueprint section? They were one of this sites most valuable asset's and are dearly missed. welder19
  3. Awsome!!! That is a very real looking branch with pine needles and cone! Thanks for sharing with us. welder19
  4. Very nice!!!! But it's another one of those monstrous pic's. welder19
  5. Cool. I have a pile of jackhammer bits I've been collecting, probably 15 or so. I've used a couple to make a hot cut hardie and a couple punches, I really like using them. welder19
  6. Very nice! These aren't the only ones, there are a lot of photo's since the last forum upgrade that are so big when you cklick on them that they are actually hard to view. Why is that? It's pretty annoying. welder19
  7. Man what luck, I have been looking for an acorn/platten table for years now and have no even came accross one even semi locally....not even one that I could'nt afford. welder19
  8. I will normally start with a hand drill, center punch where you want to drill, then start drilling straight and gradually angle the drill as it drills till you get to the approx angle you want then move to the drill press to finish. The end mill will work too, even in a drill press. welder19
  9. That's great that she got her transplant, but I know how transplants go and sometimes they don't take or there are complications so we will continue to keep her and you and your family in our prayers. welder19
  10. My vote is also for Nimba, if your gonna spend the $$$ for a new anvil then might as well get the best and also go with the biggest you can afford and keep your eyes out for a smaller one if needed, it's a lot easier to find a 100#er for a fair price than it is to find a 300#er, alot of times you can find small ones laying around in someone's barn or shed and they will give it to you. welder19
  11. I don't know of any stone that would work being in direct contact with the fire, they will crack, explode or basicaly melt from the heat. Build it out of anything you like but make the fire pot out of firebrick or refractory and you won't have any trouble with the stone. welder19
  12. I will be going through the same thing soon, just waiting for my court date, so I know what your going through and will keep you in my prayers. No one can really understand what it's like until you've had to go through it your self and I don't wish this on anyone. welder19
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROSTY!!! Glad your around to celebrate another one, thank God for that! welder19
  14. One of the blueprints in the hoffi series has a real simple one demoed by one of his students. welder19
  15. I'm surprised it gets goin that fast but then that's not really fast either Back when I was into those types of things I built one (my last one actually) with an 8 hp Kohler that topped out 57 mph, clocked by a police radar, had a friend who's brother is a cop and like once a week he would come down and do speed checks for us, on the road of coarse. I have ridden just about every type of 2, 3, 4 and 6 wheeled machine there is factory and home made, even road a friends race bike once at 180 mph but let me tell you, there is nothing like going 50+ mph on something that's smaller than you and sized for someone about an 1/8th your size on the road in the dark...it's an experience you just can't quite describe but I will say that on something that small 55 feels more like 105. I've got all kinds of story's about that kind of stuff and lots of the stupid stuff we used to do....a lot of them fueled (unsafely)by entirely too much beer. welder19
  16. Can you post a pic of the indent? If it has a clearcoat on it then that is most likely the root cause of the damage. I can't see it being a scar in the metal if the touched as lightly as you say. welder19
  17. That is a massive rear sprocket, it can't have a real high top speed with it but low end torq would be great. welder19
  18. Bascially as far away as you can get it is best but anywhere that it isn't going to get hot is ok but most importantly is to watch out for your rubber fuel hose, if your regulator has one. welder19
  19. They are usually cast and are the bottom of the barrel junk, when they would cast them they would use any kind of scrap and throw it in the pot so they were also very inconsistent as far as what type of alloy they were. I have never seen or heard of wrought iron window weights but apperantly there are some out there but I have seen lead used but the difference between lead and iron is very obvious. welder19

    Hammer

Sounds like a decent deal to me, by 60 kg club do you mean that is the hammer weight? 60 kg = 132 lbs welder19
  21. That is not an uncommon thing really, you should never leave the shop right after welding or making sparks, I always wait atleast 15 minutes. I have never really started a fire but I did one time, while grinding with a 4" grinder, set off a whole pile of firecrackers, the sparks set them off, scared the living daylights out of too, threw my grinder and ran, it took me a couple minutes to figure out what happend...and get my heart back to a normal rate. I still think about it every time I pick up my grinder. welder19
  22. If you have a problem with condensation then it is best to put a water seperator right at your plasma cutter as they do not like any water at all, it doesn't take much at all to affect performance or prevent it from cutting at all. welder19
  23. I have one that I made out of a jackhammer bit, it's mostly the only one I use. welder19
  24. Why not just straighten the bent pin, I've had to do it on several pins and have even used heat and not had a problem with it. welder19
