  1. Welding inside and out would be great, but if your not comfortable with doing that a plate for reinforcement on the inside would be sufficient. Changing the subject a little. How did you identify this as a Canedy Otto forge? I have recently acquired one just like it, but mine has no makers marks or numbers on the forge or blower. Have a great day an enjoy that forge. Thanks Charles
  2. Ran an add in the local paper for an anvil or other blacksmith items. Got two replies, both had 25 lb LGs! Went an looked at both, one was way to proud of his even though he had never used it. Made a deal on the other one and a built forge made from a binder wheel and cement. The forge weighed nearly as much as the hammer. He told me as I was leaving that he had an old electric blower for the forge "somewhere" and he would bring it to me sometime. He brought it to my cabinet shop today, It's a real nice buffalo forge blower with a 1/2hp motor that runs like a top. Now just to get it hooked up to my other forge and to see if that hammer will run. Have a great day Charles

  7. Glad to find this forum. I live in central Texas and am interested in learning more about blacksmithing. I am a residential contractor and raise curly horses with my wife on our farm. I've done a small amount of smithing such as fireplace tools, cranes and hinges. Anxious to learn more and acquire some more tools. Thanks for now and Happy New Years!
