    the handling holes arent on the one that may or may not be cast iro, they are on the other, glad that thats a good thing tho!

    south lincolnshire there are two videos on youtube also my old anvil has handling holes, what does this mean? what do handling holes mean in terms of quality, my other anvil has them (you can see it on youtube my channel is roglet123) also the new one has blobs of mig welding on it if that means anything. the face overhang is also noticeable in the hardie

    i have recently purchased a new anvil but have no idea what it is made from, it definately has a plate welded on for the face though

    ok thanks i thought of the drilling, but i think that the area around the hole needs to be relatively large the bar is only 1 inch across i could upset it first though...... thanks again

    really nice, i made a few about 4-5 months ago, in the style of english medieval long bodkins, but i didnt think to clean them up.......

    i would personally choose to put it on its end as it will give more rebound and it will give more height (my stump stump alone is 22" with a 12" anvil on top and it is still about 3" of the optimum height for me personally).harden the face as well.

    i have been asked to make a pair of large ring door latches (similar to ones on a church door) and need a square hole 12mm in one of the ends to attach to the bar joining the handles, does anyone have any past experiences of this? my real question is how should i go about making the hole. thanks in advance monty
