  1. Dont Tread on Me, I'm rebuilding a forge with a very similar lever action. See my post. I'm not totaly sure of the way the straps connect. Do you have any more photos showing the lever mechanism/ strap routing?
  2. I'm from Shawnee, KS. I'll try to be brief from now on out. Thanks, Jim
  3. I recently purchased this forge and haven't seen one like it posted in this forum. Does anyone know what type, manufacturer etc. that this might be? I purchased it because I needed something larger than my rivet forge. I also don't know exactly how this mechanism works with regard to running the fan. I'm hoping to find a photo of one that is working or at least an old add or patent. Any help or direction on where to look would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim
  4. I'm new to Blacksmithing and to the forum. I hope to learn from the vast of information shared on this forum. A little about myself. I served a sheetmetal apprenticeship where I learned to bend and shape sheetmetal for heating and air conditioning. During my apprenticeship I also completed a mechanical engineering degree. I have always been interested in historic arts and other living history. I also do a little woodcarving, lumbering, silversmithing, Native American arts, foraging for supplies for all these activities. I'm also an avid ultra runner (distances over a marathon) on trails (rocky, root strewn...not paved) and work with a local trail building not for profit. So I have a number of interest and never bored or need something to do.... So, I appreciate any wisdom shared and certainly willing to share some of what I have learned.... Happy pounding, Jim
