Thanks. The texturing is just a lot of chisel work.
The bar in the back is the handle portion of a steak turner I made. It has a bottle opener on the end also.
Mitch We want to see all of it, not just a teaser........ -
Ok I am not in the pic I was only 7 when it was taken. Can you point out Frank? I think I know but not sure, that was a few years back. Looks like some of the gentlemen are enjoying a cold Coors there.
Frank is the guy to right of the fellow holding the beer, we were so mean then we drank our beer hot :P -
Anybody out there in this pic ?

the foundation would be at least as big as the hammer itself, below grade......

It'd be neat to know the "rating" on that hammer ! :o
I saw a 5,500 lb once, the hammer was as big as a refridgerator, this one looks like x3 -
This was a picture of a picture, I took at the maritime museum in Portsmouth, England. I assume the hammer was used nearby...mb

It came from an old hardware store in Blackhawk, co. There was a whole rack of it, along with new hardies, punches, set hammers, etc. Slim Spurling had bought the whole lot, and I got a little. the place had been closed for 50yrs, the kind of treasure every blacksmith dreams of.....................bm -
