  1. We are 885 miles closer with 506 to go and if you stop by our Tailgate a similar photo op will be available.
  2. Conference officially starts Friday night. There will be one demo then and many demos sat and Sunday till noon. We get there wed about 5 pm and there are more than 100 on the grounds some are already tailgating most visiting and story telling. Hope to see you I will be riding bicycle with 600# anvil.

  4. Us 5 cent is 75% copper and 25% nickel and to make mokume you need a layer of copper or brass between to have contrast. Our 25 cent and 50 cent pieces are already layered that way and is what is used mostly for quarters mokume.
  5. Yes it is for rolling the end of a blue tube in a boiler. The round part goes into the tube next to the one next to the one you are rolling it auto indexes to go round and round inside the tube. It is not a blacksmith tool although I have one in my collection

  7. Lots of different aloy aluminum an inform might be more per # than breakage (AL with steel) but if the scrap yard doesn't trust you maybe not. Too easy to add die cast.

  9. Will it weld with coal if not it has to be air flow. I can burn steel with charcoal every day. You are not using briquets are you.
  10. When the charcoal is done you need to stop the barrel from getting air or you have ash and no coal

  14. I like mine higher than knuckle I believe that height is in place when a striker is used with top tools ect.

  18. I started blacksmithing using powdered coal soaked in water but dont soak my charcoal.
