  4. I like contraptions as much as the next guy, but I think I'll pass. George
  5. Everytime I visit this site, I learn something new or how little I know. I just thought my choices were rust, paint, acidize and linseed oil. Thanks for the info on Guilders Paste. George
  6. Thanks, nice clean lines and simple. I like it. George
  7. Brian, looks like it might fold up for storage and transportation. If it does, how did you accomplish this, a slotted hole on one side? George
  8. Kendrick, find someone who trotlines or jug fishes for catfish, they always need weights. I'd come get them if you were closer to San Antonio. George

  10. I use china markers (grease pencils) for layout over punched points/scribe marks. grease gets down in punchs or scribed lines and wears well even when not down in the grooves. Cleans up easily with WD40 type solvent/penetrating oils. George
  11. old bolt head tongs, picked up at second hand shop, $8.00, heavy duty, pitted, same set as those with white background.

  17. these are probably 50 to 75 years old, my father inlaw taught me how to use a saw, (my father tried, but I was too smart to learn from him) My Father In Law was a carpenter all his life and still preferred a hand saw over a power saw,

My nephew used to work at a hardwood supplier and they filled up dumpsters weekly with shorts and such, so he brought me some maple and walnut.

    Dip Nets

I also make fishing nets, not many, too labor intensive, Walmart sells them cheaper than I can buy the twine, galv, carbon steel hoops and handles, let alone the netting process.

    jack hammer bits

where I work finds it cheaper to replace worn/damaged bits, so I told them I would take all the were discarding.
