  1. Sounds Great! I think forges that are made of very basic materials and basic designs are great. Good Luck.
  2. I am thinking of building a forge to replace my existing one made from a camp BBQ. I have seen many Brake Drum Forges on the internet, aswell as many commercial and homemade forges that have a square or rectangular firepot as apposed to the circular one of a brake drum. I am wondering what everyone thinks is the best design and why? And if sloped sides are needed? I will probably make the "table" of the forge approx. 2'4" x 2'4" and the fire pot about 10" square if this method is chosen. Otherwise ill mount a brake drum 2 inches deep with a diameter of 10 inches. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers
  3. Heat rises so more insulation on the roof of your forge would help it get hotter.
  4. Nice Spear, I was wondering if their is anyway of getting rid of the galvanized coating on cable to make it weldable as in Australia it seems to be the only stuff i have found yet.
  5. hey great knife rich, i would like to know how you got the damascus blade to be black without darkening the other metal? in the other damascus blades ivé seen the two different colours are lighter and darker shades of gray. but the black and silver looks sooooo much better. cheers
