  1. Steve, A friend of mine, who lives nearby, has a Modern Power Hammer almost identical to yours. It is running and even has the indexed handle on top that allows for hammer force adjustment. If I remember correctly, the drive is on the left side as you would use the hammer. He has 240VAC single phase motor to drive it, but I didn't note the horsepower. I'll to get some pictures and more detailed informstion, but it would probably best for me to take you to his shop the next time you're in my area. Bob Stormer
  2. Steve, by some coincidence I just got back from a friends house who has a Modern Power Hammer that he demonstrated to me. Since I'm not familiar with them, I don't know if it's original. It does have a belt drive on the left as you look at it from the front. It also has an arm on top that can be indexed to control how hard the hammer hits. Because of it's location in his shop, which is small and dark, I don't know if I can get good pictures that would help you, but I'll try next time I visit him. Should be within the next couple weeks. Next time you're in my area I would be glad to arrange a meeting at his shop so you could get first hand knowledge.
  3. Thanks for your responses. The basket handle is what I was talking about. To expand my question - one method I'd heard about was to bend each piece into an arch shape and weld them together, then heat and twist. A fixture to make the arches identical would be one fixture. A second method I'd heard about was to build fixture to control the amount primary twist and also control the reversing twist amount. Those are the kinds of jigs/fixtures I was referring to.
  4. I'm new to iForge Iron and I'm not having much luck finding a basket forming jig. I have about 50 of them to make would like a fairly simple way of making them all look alike (or as close as practical). I'm pretty sure this has been addressed before but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone point me to ideas on making a basket jig? My stock will be about 1/4" to 3/8". Thanks for any help.
